The Rwenzori Mountains, known as the “Mountains of the Moon,” rise dramatically along Uganda’s western border with the Democratic Republic of Congo. This stunning range marks the westernmost reach of the Great Rift Valley and has been a cradle of coffee farming for generations.
With two rainy seasons and diverse agro-ecologies, Uganda produces a steady, year-round supply of Arabica coffee. The vast majority of coffee producers in the Kasese region are smallholders with plots of roughly 2 acres. This lot is a collection of selected cherries from several of these producers which were then processed by miller and exporter Agri Evolve.
Agri Evolve is a profit-for-purpose business transforming coffee farming in Uganda’s Rwenzori Mountains. Founded in 2016, it supports over 2,000 smallholder farmers by providing fair market prices, modern processing facilities, and strategic buying centres to ensure ease of access for farmers. By purchasing freshly picked cherries and processing them locally, Agri Evolve maintains strict quality control, producing exceptional coffee while fostering trust and economic stability in the region. Their commitment to sustainability and community development has established the Rwenzori Mountains as a source of premium specialty coffee, celebrated worldwide.
